1 Dead and 30 injured after GMDA main water supply pipeline bursts in Guwahati, Assam

Assam: The main water supply pipeline burst on Thursday in Kharguli area of ​​Guwahati city of Assam. One person died in this. At the same time, more than 30 people are also being claimed injured. The gushing water was so strong that it damaged about 40 houses. At the same time, many vehicles were also washed away due to the shower.

The incident happened at three in the afternoon. There has been panic among the local people. More than 600 persons have been directly affected by the inflow of water. About 30 people have been injured in the incident. The injured have been taken to nearby hospitals for immediate treatment.

According to information, police and Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) officials immediately reached the spot as soon as the information about the incident was received. The police cordoned off the affected area.

A probe has been launched to ascertain the cause of the blast. The GMDA has assured the affected residents that water supply will be restored in the area at the earliest.
