Jalandhar. Six members of a family got burnt in a fire in a house in Avtar Nagar, Jalandhar, Punjab. Fire engines reached the spot and extinguished the fire.
Jalandhar’s Additional CP Aditya said that the police had received information about an incident like threat in a house. After which the police immediately reached the spot. Six people have been injured in this incident, who have been admitted to the hospital.
Police have called the forensic department team for investigation. It was told that at the time of this incident, an elderly member of the house was sitting in another room.
This elderly woman suddenly heard the sound of an explosion and saw that the house was on fire. After which the fire brigade team reached the spot and controlled the fire and brought the family members out from inside the house.
The family members who were burnt in the fire have been identified as Inderpal, his father Yashpal, wife Ruchi, children Mansha, Diya and Akshay. According to information received from sources, five people have died, but this has not been officially confirmed from Punjab Police yet.
Regarding this, ADCP Aditya said that a very gruesome incident has happened. ADCP Aditya said that the matter is being investigated with the forensic team. Only after that something can be said about it.
