Odisha: There were 61 thousand incidents of lightning in six districts of Odisha on Saturday. These incidents of lightning fall in just two hours have horrified and surprised the people.
It is a matter of relief that there was relatively less loss of life in these incidents of lightning. While 12 people lost their lives in these incidents, 14 were injured.
According to Odisha State Disaster Management Authority, more than 61 thousand incidents of lightning were reported from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
The weather department’s forecast for the next four days is going to further increase people’s concerns. IMD has predicted rain in different parts of Odisha in the next four days.
According to meteorologists, such unusual and high incidence of lightning occurs when the monsoon returns to normalcy after a long gap.
