Krishnagiri. A big news has come out from Tamil Nadu. There has been an explosion in a firecracker factory located in Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu. Eight people, including three women, died on Saturday in the blast, while many others were injured.
The police are yet to ascertain the cause of the blast. The blast, which took place on Saturday morning, was so strong that a nearby hotel building also collapsed, while four other buildings were partially damaged, trapping many people.
Police said that so far 12 seriously injured people have been admitted to the hospital. Fire engines and rescue teams, which reached the spot immediately after the incident, worked for hours to extinguish the fire and rescue the people trapped inside.
Krishnagiri Superintendent of Police Saroj Kumar Thakor said that the explosion occurred inside a firecracker factory owned by a person named Ravi in Pazhayapettai area. Thakor said, “At least seven people have been declared brought dead and some other injured have been taken to a nearby government hospital for treatment.”
