New York: Donald Trump, the former US President, made his way to a New York court on Monday to provide testimony in a fraud-related case. During the proceedings, he engaged in a heated exchange with the judge and took the opportunity to criticize the state attorney general who had filed the lawsuit against him.
Trump utilized the witness stand in his civil fraud trial to both safeguard his wealth and challenge the case that poses a threat to his real estate empire. The former president’s sharp testimony prompted a warning from the judge, who said ‘this is not a political rally.’ Trump called it a ‘political witch hunt’ and said ‘the onus is on the court, not me.’
Asked about the Mar-a-Lago property appraisal, Trump said, “What’s going on here, how can something like this go on?” this is outrageous. This is a political witch hunt and I think they should be ashamed of themselves.Judge Arthur Angoron told Trump’s lawyer that your client’s answers were non-responsive and repetitive.
Trump has repeatedly accused Judge Angoron and New York Attorney General Letitia James of political bias. He said he was confident that Judge Angoron would rule against him. The hearing is not being conducted properly.
