New York. Elon Musk said after meeting PM Modi that he is planning to visit India again next year. Elon Musk said on Tuesday that the electric car maker wants to invest in India ‘as soon as possible’.
Musk said this after meeting PM Modi who reached America on a three-day state visit. A source had earlier told Reuters that Musk would brief PM Modi about plans to set up a manufacturing hub in India.
Asked by reporters about Tesla’s plans to invest in India, Musk said, “I am sure Tesla will be in India and it will be as soon as possible.”
He further said, ‘I would like to thank the Prime Minister for his support and hope that we will be able to make some announcement in the near future.’
Musk said that he is a ‘fan’ of PM Modi and the Prime Minister had visited a Tesla factory in California several years ago. He said, ‘I am incredibly excited about the future of India.
India has more possibilities than any other big country in the world. PM Modi really cares about India because he is motivating us to make necessary investments in India, which is something we want to do. We are just looking for the right time.
