New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made a big move to avoid going to jail on June 2. After getting a setback from the Supreme Court, Arvind Kejriwal now reached Rouse Avenue Court. He has filed both regular and interim bail petitions in the Delhi liquor scam case. The hearing was held at 2 pm on Thursday in Rouse Avenue Court.

ED opposed Arvind Kejriwal’s petition. ED said that if his health is bad then why was he campaigning so vigorously. Arvind Kejriwal has applied for regular bail for the first time after being arrested in the excise policy scam case. Currently, he is out of jail till June 1 on interim bail.

ASG SV Raju responded to Arvind Kejriwal’s petition on behalf of ED. He said that I have just received a copy. I need time to file a reply. He said that Arvind Kejriwal is campaigning in Punjab. ED questioned whether his health is not preventing him from campaigning? He has campaigned for his party very vigorously. And now a bail petition is being filed at the last moment.

He should not be granted bail because of his conduct.ED’s lawyer SV Raju said that Arvind Kejriwal is campaigning everywhere. He is addressing rallies at many places. ED said that we will file our reply on Arvind Kejriwal’s regular and interim bail. After this, Rouse Avenue Court issued notice to ED on Arvind Kejriwal’s regular and interim bail plea. Rouse Avenue Court will hear the case next on June 1.

Let us tell you that Arvind Kejriwal has filed 2 separate bail pleas in Rouse Avenue Court. One is for regular bail and the other is for interim bail.In fact, Arvind Kejriwal had received a setback from the Supreme Court a day earlier. The apex court had rejected the demand to extend interim bail by 7 days. Arvind Kejriwal had pleaded to list his petition immediately.

But the Supreme Court rejected the demand and ordered to approach the lower court. According to the Supreme Court’s order, the Aam Aadmi Party convener will have to surrender on June 2.The Supreme Court registry refused to accept the petition and said that since Arvind Kejriwal has been allowed to go to the lower court for regular bail, this petition is not worth hearing.

The vacation bench of Justice JK Maheshwari and Justice KV Vishwanathan took cognizance of the arguments of senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, who appeared on behalf of the Chief Minister, on Tuesday. It was said that the CJI can take a decision on listing the interim petition for hearing as the decision in the main case is reserved.
