Arvind Kejriwal will not appear before ED again today, called the summons illegal

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will not join the ED’s interrogation in the money laundering case related to Delhi Jal Board. Aam Aadmi Party issued a statement saying that Arvind Kejriwal will not appear on the summons of ED. Not only this, you have called the ED summons illegal.

This is the second case in which AAP has been accused of taking bribe. Before this, ED also wants to interrogate Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi liquor scam case. The ED has claimed that the party had used the money earned from the Excise Policy 2021-22 for campaigning in the Goa Assembly elections.

In fact, ED i.e. Enforcement Directorate had on Sunday sent summons to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the case of money laundering related to alleged irregularities in Delhi Jal Board. Arvind Kejriwal was called to the ED office today to appear. However, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has termed it as a ‘backup’ plan to stop CM Kejriwal from campaigning in the Lok Sabha elections.

According to the summons, Arvind Kejriwal (55) was asked to appear before the officials at the ED office on APJ Abdul Kalam Road today i.e. on Monday and record his statement under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

But now Aam Aadmi Party has made it clear that Arvind Kejriwal will not appear.Let us tell you that this is the second case registered under the Money Laundering Act, in which the National Convener of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) i.e. Arvind Kejriwal has been called. Earlier, summons have been issued to him for questioning in the money laundering case related to Delhi Excise Policy.

Arvind Kejriwal has not yet appeared before the agency in this case, calling the eight summons illegal. If Delhi Jal Board case is included, till now ED has sent 10 summons to Arvind Kejriwal. Arvind Kejriwal has been issued the ninth summons in the Delhi liquor scam case and has been called for questioning on March 21.

In the DJB case, the ED has claimed that money obtained through corruption in contracts awarded by a Delhi government department was allegedly sent as election funds to Delhi’s ruling party ‘AAP’. The ED case is based on a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) FIR alleging irregularities in the Rs 38 crore contract awarded by DJB to NKG Infrastructure Limited Company despite not meeting the technical eligibility criteria.

Those arrested in this case on January 31 include former DJB Chief Engineer Jagdish Kumar Arora and contractor Anil Kumar Aggarwal. The ED claimed that NKG Infrastructure Ltd won the contract by submitting ‘fake’ documents and Arora was aware of the fact that the company did not meet the technical eligibility.
