Arvind Kejriwal’s statement recorded in the court, he said – No opposition to increasing the remand, but…

New Delhi. Rouse Avenue Court, in its written order to extend the ED custody of Arvind Kejriwal, has taken on record the arguments made orally by Arvind Kejriwal in the court. The court also took on record Kejriwal’s statement in which he had said that he was ready to cooperate with the investigating agency and he was not opposing ED’s request to extend the remand.

The court said in its order that Kejriwal said that a witness had donated a huge amount to BJP. The court said it took on record Kejriwal’s oral submission that the statements of witnesses recorded by the investigating agency do not link him in any way to the alleged crimes and questioned his arrest in the case.

Rouse Avenue Court said in the order that Arvind Kejriwal further said that the ED has not placed all the documents before the court, especially those documents which are in his favor. In the written order, the court also took on record Kejriwal’s oral argument in which he alleged that the ED was not able to trace the alleged amount of Rs 100 crore.

The court said in the order that the ED wants to confront the Chief Minister with the details of the visitors coming to his office. The court recorded the submission of ASG SV Raju that during the custodial interrogation of the accused, his statement was recorded for five days and he was interrogated on various aspects. However, Kejriwal gave a vague answer.

Rouse Avenue Court said in its order that ED said that there is a need to confront the accused with some information and details obtained from the concerned banks and Income Tax Authority. The court said in its order that during the investigation, the investigating agency had sought details of some documents regarding immovable/movable properties, ITR and other financial statements from Kejriwal but Kejriwal has not yet provided the same. The court said in the order that Kejriwal has also not provided the passwords/login credentials of the digital devices seized by the investigating agency during the search at his premises on 21.03.2024
