Hearing of Atiq-Ashraf murder case in Supreme Court on April 28

New Delhi. The Supreme Court has agreed to hear on April 28 a petition seeking setting up of an independent expert committee headed by a former Supreme Court judge to probe the murder of Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf Ahmed.

A public interest litigation filed in the Supreme Court on the murder of Atiq and Ashraf demanded an early hearing. For this, an appeal was made to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to conduct a hearing at the earliest. After this, the Supreme Court has given the assurance of hearing on Friday.

A public interest litigation has been filed in the Supreme Court demanding an inquiry into the murder of famous mafia brothers Atiq and Ashraf in Prayagraj’s police custody. In this PIL, a probe has been demanded under the supervision of a retired judge of the Supreme Court.

In this petition, a demand has been made to investigate all the 183 encounters in Uttar Pradesh since 2017 by an expert committee under the supervision of a retired judge of the Supreme. Advocate Vishal Tiwari has filed this PIL in the Supreme Court.
