Prayagraj. SIT has been formed to investigate the murder of Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf. Prayagraj Police Commissioner has constituted SIT.
3 members have been appointed in this Special Investigation Team. ADCP Crime, ACP are also included in the committee. Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf, who reached the hospital for medical examination last Saturday night, were shot dead.

A day after Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were killed, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court on Sunday, seeking the formation of an independent expert committee headed by a former apex court judge to probe it.
The petition, filed by advocate Vishal Tiwari, has also sought a probe into 183 encounters in Uttar Pradesh since 2017.
