Dhaka: A massive fire broke out at Bangladesh’s biggest wholesale market Bangabazar in Dhaka on Tuesday. The fire has spread to more than 6 buildings and the adjoining residential area, officials said.
It is being told that there are more than 6 thousand shops in the market. Fire officials told that there is neither fire extinguisher nor any means to extinguish it in the market. Some shop owners have said that the fire was pre-planned,

He has demanded an inquiry into the incident. Meanwhile, around 50 fire engines have been pressed into service to douse the flames. Army and Air Force helicopters are sprinkling water on the affected areas.
Rafi Al Farooq, Duty Officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defense Control Room, said that the fire broke out at around 6.10 am. Without giving any possible reason for the fire, Farooq said that there was no report of any casualty so far. Let us tell you that the cloth market which has caught fire is one of the biggest cloth markets in the capital of Bangladesh.
