Cyclone Biparjoy: Biparjoy storm wreaks havoc in Barmer, many villages evacuated

Barmer. Rainfall continues in Barmer district adjacent to Gujarat, which is most affected in Rajasthan due to Biparjoy storm. Due to incessant rains in Barmer, many villages have been waterlogged.

The district administration has started getting the affected villages evacuated. Police and administration have taken the people of these villages out of their homes and taken them to safe places.

Due to Biparjoy storm, rain is going on in other areas including Sirohi district as well as Barmer adjacent to Gujarat in Rajasthan.

Barmer District Collector Arun Kumar and Superintendent of Police Digant Anand reached Chauhtan on Friday to know the situation in rural areas. There he took information about the entire area from the subdivision officer and other officers.

In view of the possible threat of cyclonic storm, the families of 3 villages around Banka town of Sherwa subdivision area have been shifted to a government school at a safer place.
