Bharatpur. A ruckus has arisen over the installation of Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s statue in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. Here his statue was to be installed at Bailara intersection of Nadbai.
But, late night of April 12, the situation worsened due to entanglement between two castes. Three times stones were pelted at the police who went to stop this bloody struggle.
People started arson and blocked the road. The police somehow pacified the matter.Significantly, assembly elections are to be held in Rajasthan this year. In view of this, the leaders here are carrying out various activities.
Meanwhile, Congress MLA from Nadbai Jogendra Singh Awana had recently announced that he would install a statue of Babasaheb Ambedkar at a crossroads here. As soon as his announcement was made, the Jat community opposed it. The Jat community demanded the installation of a statue of Bharatpur founder Maharaja Surajmal here.
