Bhopal. Assembly elections are going to be held in Madhya Pradesh next month. About fifty percent of the population in the state belongs to OBC category. But, both BJP and Congress were stingy in the name of giving OBC tickets in the assembly elections to be held on 17th November.

Congress, which had promised to conduct caste census in MP if it wins the elections, has given only 62 tickets to OBCs out of 229 seats. That means 27 percent. Same is the condition of BJP. BJP has made three OBC Chief Ministers in MP since 2003.

But in the name of giving tickets, it also became stingy. This time BJP has given 69 tickets to OBC candidates out of 228 seats. That means 30 percent. Broadly speaking, Congress has fielded 36 percent candidates from the general category.

BJP has won trust on 33 percent candidates of general category. On the other hand, Parliament has passed the Nari Shakti Act to provide 33 percent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and Assemblies.

But the ruling BJP at the Center and the state has given tickets to only 28 women. That means 12 percent. Congress has fielded 30 women. That means 13 percent. Both BJP and Congress talk about 33 percent reservation for women. But, while giving tickets, both of them limited the candidature of women.
