Ahmedabad. ISRO Chairman S Somnath Announces Arrival of India’s Aditya L1 Solar Mission at Lagrangian Point on January 6. S Somnath, Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), has revealed that the country’s inaugural solar mission, ‘Aditya L1,’ is set to reach the Lagrangian Point (L1) on January 6, situated 15 lakh kilometers away from Earth.
Launched on September 2 from the Satish Dhawan Space Center (SDSC) in Sriharikota, this pioneering mission marks India’s first space-based observatory dedicated to studying the Sun from the ‘Halo Orbit L1.’Somnath told media persons on the sidelines of the Indian Science Conference organized by Vigyan Bharati, a non-governmental organization (NGO) working to popularize science, that Aditya L1 will enter the L1 point on January 6. hope so.
The exact timing will be announced in due course.He said that when it reaches L1 point, we will have to start the engine once again so that it does not move further. It will go to that point and once it reaches that point it will start rotating around it and get stuck on L1.
The ISRO chief said that when Aditya L1 reaches its destination, it will help in detecting various events happening on the Sun for the next five years. He said that India is going to become a technologically powerful country in the future.
Somnath said that ISRO has planned to build an Indian space station during the ‘Amrit Kaal’ as per the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which will be called ‘Indian Space Station’.
