Bihar News: The matter of release of caste census data by Bihar government reached the Supreme Court on Tuesday. The petitioner raised this matter before the court.
On this, the Supreme Court has said that we will hear on 6 October. However, the court said that we cannot say anything on this matter right now. The petitioner’s lawyer said that the Bihar government has made the caste census data public.

Let us tell you that the Bihar government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday released the findings of the much-awaited caste-based census, which revealed that Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Extremely Backward Classes (EBC) constitute 63 percent of the total population of the state.
According to the data released here by Bihar Development Commissioner Vivek Singh, the total population of the state is a little more than 13.07 crore, of which EBC is the largest social class with 36 percent.
After this OBC is 27.13 percent. The survey also said that the Yadav community included in the OBC group is 14.27 percent of the total population of the state. State Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav also belongs to this community.
The Bihar government ordered caste-based enumeration in the state last year after the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government made it clear that it would not enumerate castes other than Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes as part of the general census. Will not be able to do it.
