New Delhi: It is said in the country’s politics that the path to Delhi’s chair leads from Uttar Pradesh and the path to Uttar Pradesh leads from Purvanchal. This is the reason why the Bharatiya Janata Party has started strengthening the fort, where few steps were left in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Yes, BJP is now busy strengthening its Purvanchal fort.

PM Modi has massive rallies in Purvanchal today. After filing his nomination from Varanasi and showing strength in the road show, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to do a mega show for BJP in Purvanchal today i.e. on Thursday. PM Modi will roar in Pratapgarh, Azamgarh, Jaunpur and Bhadohi on Thursday and will further strengthen BJP’s claim. Voting on these seats will be held on May 25 in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections.

PM Modi’s first rally will be held in Nizamabad assembly constituency of Lalganj in Azamgarh district, followed by the second rally in Machhilshahr of Jaunpur, third in Bhadohi and fourth rally in Pratapgarh. This will be the highest number of rallies by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a single day in this election in Uttar Pradesh. It is important to mention here that in eastern Uttar Pradesh, which is called Purvanchal, BJP is in direct competition with the Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance on most of the seats.

How much BJP’s focus is on Purvanchal can be gauged from the fact that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also address two more rallies in Jaunpur and Bhadohi districts in the coming days. Not only this, in the coming days, PA Modi will also be seen addressing election rallies in Basti and Deoria districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh.

It is believed that PM Modi will address public meetings in these two districts on May 21. Voting is to be held in Basti also in the sixth phase on 25th May. Apart from this, on May 21 itself, PM Modi will participate in a women’s conference in Varanasi. Bharatiya Janata Party has nominated Dineshlal Yadav Nirahua from Azamgarh, Sangamlal Gupta from Pratapgarh, Kripashankar Singh from Jaunpur and Vinod Kumar Bind from Bhadohi.

In fact, despite the Modi magic in 2019, the Bharatiya Janata Party could not completely conquer Purvanchal. Because of BSP and SP, BJP could not achieve a unilateral victory in Purvanchal areas in the Lok Sabha elections 2019. There are about 26 Lok Sabha seats in Purvanchal. BJP had won 17 out of 26 seats in Purvanchal, while NDA’s ally Apna Dal (S) had won on two seats.

In 2019, BJP had to face defeat on a total of 7 seats including Ghosi, Azamgarh, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Ambedkar Nagar. Of these, Mayawati’s BSP had won Ghosi, Ghazipur, Jaunpur and Ambedkar Nagar seats, while SP had won the Azamgarh seat.
