New Delhi: After BJP’s ‘bold’ step of fielding 7 MPs as its candidates in the Rajasthan Assembly elections, people who were ignored for these tickets have started protesting, including some loyalists of former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia.
Whereas in Madhya Pradesh, despite the talk of anti-incumbency against the leaders of Shivraj Singh Chouhan government, political analysts are surprised by the BJP again fielding 24 ministers.
Congress lists for both the states are still awaited. The party is waiting for Navratri starting from October 15 to announce the tickets. BJP is facing the challenge of calming the anger of its own leaders in Rajasthan, where some of Raje’s loyalists were shown the door. Has gone.
Prominent among those who were denied tickets is former minister and two-time former MLA Rajpal Singh Shekhawat, to whom BJP has not given its candidate from Jhotwara this time. The party has also canceled the ticket of three-time sitting MLA Narpat Singh Rajvi from Vidyadhar Nagar.
In Jhotwara, BJP has fielded Lok Sabha MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, while in Vidyadhar Nagar, MP Diya Kumari has been fielded. Rajpal Shekhawat and Narpat Rajvi are seen close to Vasundhara Raje.
Rajvi has even asked why BJP has chosen Diya Kumari whose ‘family had surrendered before the Mughals’, while terming Shekhawat Rathod as an ‘outsider’. Leaders who got tickets in place of MPs like Baba Balaknath, Kirori Lal Meena, Bhagirath Choudhary and Devi Patel are also protesting.
