Mumbai. Ultimately, after a long illness, Junior Mahmood said goodbye to the world at the age of 67. Everyone had been praying for his well-being for some time but he could not fight the cancer battle any longer. According to reports, he breathed his last last Thursday night.
Junior Mahmood’s friend Salam Qazi has confirmed his death.Junior Mahmood was battling cancer for a long time. Recently he had expressed his desire to meet his friends Jitendra and Sachin Pilgaonkar. On his wish, both the artists had specially come to meet him.
Jitendra’s eyes became moist after seeing the condition of Junior Mahmood. Junior Mahmood’s friend Salam Qazi has confirmed the passing of Junior Mahmood.According to friend Salam Qazi, Mahmood had cancer in his lungs and liver. Besides, a tumor was also found in the intestine.
Doctors said that his cancer was in the fourth stage and due to this his health was continuously deteriorating. Junior Mahmood was on life support for the last few days. According to Qazi, Junior Mahmood’s last rites will be performed at Santa Cruz West at 12 noon on Friday.
Junior Mahmood i.e. Naeem Syed was born on 15 November 1956. Worked in more than 265 films in 7 languages. He had also directed many Marathi films. ‘Brahmachari’, ‘Do Raaste’, ‘Aan Milo Sajna’, ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’, ‘Kati Patang’, ‘Hare Ram Hare Krishna’, ‘Johar Mahmood in Hong Kong’, ‘Bombay to Goa’, ‘Guru and ‘Chela’ etc. were some of his special films.
