Sanjay Singh said that ED has not given him grounds of arrest. Delhi High Court will hear Sanjay Singh’s petition today. Earlier on Tuesday, a Delhi court had extended the ED custody of Aam Aadmi Party leader and MP Sanjay Singh, arrested in a money laundering case related to the Excise Policy Scam case, till October 13.

The judge had said that the facts stated in the application filed by the ED and the file related to the case presented before the court by the investigating officer reveal some new facts recently obtained during the investigation and the recovery of some new digital evidence.

He noted the ED’s claim that a witness had claimed Sanjay Singh’s alleged role in granting some liquor licenses in Punjab. While extending Singh’s remand, the judge said that a close associate of the accused had told a witness about Singh’s alleged involvement in granting liquor licenses in Delhi for financial gain.

Citing the ED’s application, the judge said that Singh’s associate has been called to join the investigation and it is necessary to interrogate both of them in relation to the latest evidence. The court said that during the recent searches, about 200 GB of digital data has been recovered, which is yet to be analyzed.
