Chandigarh: The news of a painful accident has come to the fore from Punjab. Eight devotees have died in a road accident in Punjab’s Garhshankar late last night, while many have been injured.
According to the information received from the police, on Wednesday late night, around 50 devotees were walking towards Charan Chho Ganga to participate in the Baisakhi gathering. Meanwhile, a speeding truck crushed them.
In the accident, five devotees died on the spot while three people died during treatment in the hospital. Five devotees are said to be from the same family. All the deceased devotees belong to Muzaffarnagar in UP.
After the accident, the truck driver fled from the spot, the police is looking for him.It is being told that on Thursday people can protest against the administration regarding the accidents.
