The consecration ritual has started in the first Hindu temple built in Abu Dhabi, the capital of United Arab Emirates. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate this temple this afternoon. Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) Society has built this huge Hindu temple.
Built on 27 acres of land in Abu Dhabi, this temple has a unique blend of Indian culture and the identity of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The focal point of PM Modi’s two-day visit to the Gulf country is the inauguration of the BAPS Temple, which is located in the UAE. The second and largest Hindu temple of Abu Dhabi.
The construction of this temple started in the year 2019, for which the United Arab Emirates has donated land. The sacred water of Ganga and Yamuna and pink sandstone of Rajasthan have been used in this temple. The sacred water of Ganga and Yamuna is flowing on both sides of this temple, which has been brought from India in big containers.
Vishal Brahmbhatt, who oversees the procurement and materials at the temple site, said that more than two lakh cubic feet of ‘sacred’ stone has been brought in more than 700 containers for the construction of the temple. He said, ‘Pink sandstone has been brought from India.
The stone carving has been done by the local sculptors and it has been installed by the workers here. After this, the artists have finalized the design here.’ The wooden boxes and containers in which the stones were brought to Abu Dhabi have been used in making furniture in the temple
