IMD alerted, effect of Biparjoy storm started appearing in Gujarat

Valsad. On Sunday, the cyclonic storm Biparjoy has intensified further and moving towards Saurashtra coast of Gujarat, its effect has also started showing. A serious warning has been issued by the Meteorological Department regarding Biparjoy.

Wind speed has increased. Due to the strong winds, the chairs and dustbins kept in front of the shops built on the sea shore have started falling away due to the speed of the wind.

The clear effect of Biparjoy storm is being seen on the sea shores of Valsad. The initial sound of the storm is so dangerous that the nearby huts have started getting destroyed.

Due to the deadly consequences of Biparjoy, the Gujarat government has closed the beaches and has started sending necessary information to the people living along the shores.

In view of the possibility of severe cyclonic storm ‘Biparjoy’ reaching between Kutch district and Karachi coast of Pakistan on June 15, the Gujarat government is deploying teams of National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force in the coastal areas.

IMD has already warned people to be alert about the effect of this cyclonic storm. Shelter centers are being set up in six districts.

An official said on Sunday that Kutch, Jamnagar, Morbi, Gir Somnath, Porbandar, and Devbhoomi Dwarka districts are likely to be affected by the cyclone due to heavy rains and wind speed up to 150 kmph between June 13 and 15.
