Cyclone Biparjoy: The Meteorological Department has told that by the morning of June 16, Biparjoy will weaken slightly and will move towards Rajasthan. The eye of the storm is currently near the Pakistan-Kutch border. The average wind speed was 70 km per hour.
According to the IMD forecast, the storm will reach southern Rajasthan on June 16. Gujarat Relief Commissioner Alok Pandey said intermittent rains are expected across Gujarat with heavy rainfall near the epicenter of the storm.
Cyclone Biparjoy’s intensity has moved from ‘very severe’ to ‘severe’ after landfall, IMD director Mrityunjay Mohapatra was quoted as saying.
It has now moved from sea to land and has crossed Saurashtra-Kutch adjacent to Pakistan coast near Gujarat via Jakhau port. On June 16, there may be heavy rains in Rajasthan.
