Cyclone Update. IMD has issued an alert for several states regarding cyclonic storm Biparjoy. IMD has predicted that Biparjoy will move north during the next 6 hours.
According to the India Meteorological Department, the deep pressure area over the southeast Arabian Sea has turned into a cyclonic storm ‘Biparjoy’ on Tuesday evening. IMD has issued a warning regarding this today.
According to the Meteorological Department, due to this, in 24 hours, rain with strong winds can be seen in Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg in the coastal areas of Konkan, apart from Mumbai, Thane and Palghar.
Cyclone ‘Biparjoy’ is a low pressure area, which is presently over the Southeast Arabian Sea.It is expected to further intensify into a depression in the next 48 hours and is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm in the remaining 72 hours.
The track of the cyclone is not yet clear.Cyclone ‘Biparjoy’ is the first cyclone to form in the Arabian Sea this season. The name ‘Biparjoy’ is given by Bangladesh.
There is a possibility of very high waves in the sea from June 8 to 10 on the Konkan, Goa and Maharashtra coast. Fishermen who landed in the sea have been advised to return to the coast.
