DCW Swati Maliwal sent notice to Delhi’s Indraprastha College, sexual harassment of girls during fest

New Delhi. Delhi Women’s Commission Chairperson Swati Maliwal has issued a notice to the Delhi Police and the Principal of Indraprastha College. Has taken suo moto cognizance of reports of sexual harassment of girl students during the fest organized in the college

It is being told that during a fest organized in the college, some boys entered the college and molested the girls. Along with this, allegedly the boys also tried to enter the hostels of the girl students.

The Commission has asked the Delhi Police to provide a copy of the FIR along with the details of the arrested accused. The commission has also sought details of the security arrangements made by the Delhi Police and the college administration during the fest.

The commission has sought an explanation for the lapse in security during the festival, as well as details of the action taken against those responsible for the lapse in security. The commission has asked the college and the police to provide copies of correspondence made in this regard. The commission has sought an action taken report by April 3.

On this matter, Delhi Women’s Commission Chairperson Swati Maliwal said, “The incident is very unfortunate. We have seen many such cases in the past where girl students have been harassed by anti-social elements who forcibly entered colleges especially during fests.
