New Delhi. The Delhi government on Thursday issued an advisory banning the use of mobile phones in schools. This advisory was issued by the Directorate of Education (DE) under the Arvind Kejriwal government.
In which it was said that the use of mobile phones by students should be banned not only in government schools but also in private schools.
The DE’s advisory said, ‘Parents should ensure that their children do not bring mobile phones to school. If children bring mobile to school, then the school administration should ensure that it is confiscated and kept in a locker.
A system should be made to keep the mobile safe. It was said, ‘Teachers and staff should avoid using mobile phones in class rooms, playgrounds, laboratories and libraries.’
“Mobile phones confiscated from students should be returned after they are discharged,” the DoE said. The circular asked school authorities to provide helpline numbers where students and parents can call in case of emergency.
