New Delhi.On Saturday night, the Directorate of Education in Delhi rescinded the order to extend the winter vacation in National Capital Region schools. Despite an earlier directive issued on the same day, stating that the winter break would be prolonged until January 10 due to harsh weather conditions, a subsequent clarification from a Delhi government official cited an error in the initial order.
The statement advised that a decision regarding the extension of holidays would be made on Sunday. As of now, all government and private schools in Delhi are scheduled to reopen on Monday after the conclusion of the regular winter vacation.
The officer said, ‘The order to extend winter vacation was issued by mistake. The order has been immediately withdrawn and a decision on it will be taken tomorrow morning.’ The new order states, ‘Order No. DE.23(3)/Sch.Br./2024/18 dated, regarding extension of winter vacations. : Withdrawn with immediate effect on January 6, 2024.
Further orders in this regard can be issued at the appropriate time.Meanwhile, severe cold continues in entire North India including Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan. Cold wave is going on in Delhi and India Meteorological Department has issued ‘Yellow Alert’ due to dense fog, light rain and drop in temperature for the next few days.
