Delhi: Weather becomes pleasant due to rain in Delhi-NCR, relief from heat

New Delhi: Southwest monsoon has knocked in Haryana, Punjab and Delhi. After the first spell of monsoon, it rained heavily in Delhi-NCR late on Monday night. Where the weather has become pleasant due to the rain, on the other hand people have got relief from the heat. Although a yellow alert for heavy rain was issued on Monday, but in many areas the thick clouds went away without rain.

Although it rained in areas like Najafgarh, Narela and Aya Nagar. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rains in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi till July 2 due to the onset of monsoon.

Monsoon advanced into parts of Haryana-Punjab and remaining parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on June 26. Delhi-NCR remained cloudy till noon due to the progress of monsoon. In the morning it seemed that the clouds would rain now, in the afternoon it rained only in areas like Najafgarh, Palam, Sports Complex, Narela and Aya Nagar.

The humidity bothered me a lot throughout the day. For this reason, the maximum humidity was recorded at 98 per cent and the minimum at 69 per cent. The maximum temperature was four notches below normal at 33.2 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 25.4 degrees Celsius.

The lowest maximum temperature was recorded at 30.6 degree Celsius in Aya Nagar, 31.5 degree Celsius in Mayur Vihar, 31.8 degree Celsius in Ridge. While 002.4 mm of rain was recorded till 8.30 am. Najafgarh area received 38.5 mm of rain till 8.30 am, 025.0 in Mungeshpur, 022.5 mm in Jafarpur. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain for Tuesday as well.
