Delhi News: Delhi High Court expressed concern over the deteriorating air quality in Delhi and said that it is difficult to survive in Delhi due to poisonous air.
However, while giving permission to celebrate Dussehra in the district park, the court said that the importance of socio-cultural activities like Dussehra cannot be ignored.
The court said that we are suffocating. This is the cry of the citizens of Delhi, where in the last few years the air quality has reached such toxic levels that survival has become difficult.
The Court said that the residents of Delhi are gasping for breath, making it not only the duty of the government agencies but also requires a concerted effort of every individual to save the city.
Delhi High Court made this comment while giving permission to Shri Ramlila Samiti of Janakpuri to celebrate Dussehra in the district park till 30th October.
The court expressed concern that organizing such socio-cultural religious programs in district parks pollutes the environment, causes traffic jams and also causes serious damage to trees.
However, the court also said that the importance of these socio-cultural activities cannot be ignored.
