Earthquake tremors were felt in many parts of Punjab, Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center said the 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck 70 km southeast of Faizabad in Afghanistan at around 10.19 am.
Tremors were also felt in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar and Poonch. Some social media users said a magnitude 6.3 earthquake was recorded in Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore and other cities in Pakistan.
