Election Commission became strict, gave strict instructions to West Bengal administration

Kolkata. The dates of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections have been revealed and the Election Commission is committed to conducting peaceful elections in the country. The Election Commission (EC) on Monday asked the West Bengal Police to prepare a list of people against whom complaints of booth capturing and wrongful voting were filed during the last elections.

The officers provided this information.According to the EC, the purpose of this step is to ensure violence-free Lok Sabha elections in the state. Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Ariz Aftab held a meeting with District Magistrates, District Election Officers and election officials on Monday and asked them to review the election preparations.

An official said, “In the meeting held through video conference on Monday, the law and order situation in the state and the implementation of the model code of conduct were discussed. “The Commission wants a report within the next 15 days on the action taken against those who have been accused of breaking the law during the last elections.”
