New Delhi. Today ED conducted searches at various premises belonging to Irfan Solanki, three-time MLA from Samajwadi Party from Sisamau seat of Kanpur, and his associates. Many cases are registered against Irfan Solanki and his associates in Uttar Pradesh like extortion, occupation of government and private land, illegal construction. Irfan Solanki has nexus with builder Shaukat Ali and Haji Wasi Khan.
Haji Wasi Khan is accused of funding the riots that took place in Kanpur in the year 2022. Haji Wasi Khan and his gang are accused of illegally settling Bangladeshi citizens on the basis of fake documents.Even the Gangster Act has been imposed against Haji Wasi Khan and his henchmen. PMLA’s investigation has revealed that Irfan’s wealth increased by 282 percent between 2016 and 2022 during his tenure as MLA.
Initial investigation has revealed that Irfan Solanki had unaccounted benami assets and money laundering was done through fake companies. Between 2015-16 and 2022-23, it has been revealed from Irfan’s account that around Rs 12.5 crore cash was deposited in it. Whereas income tax returns were filed on only Rs 6 lakh.
Investigation has revealed that the 1000 square meter bungalow in which Irfan and his brother Rizwan live is worth around Rs 10 crore. That too has been purchased with illegally earned money. Some diaries have been recovered in the ED raid, in which information about transactions worth Rs 40 to 50 crore has come to light.
Along with this, documents of land purchased in Mumbai for Rs 5 crore have been recovered. Along with this, Rs 26 lakh cash and some digital devices have been recovered. Whose investigation is going on with the help of forensic team.
