ED takes major action against Salman Khurshid’s wife Louise, seizes property worth lakhs

New Delhi. In a major action, the Central Investigation Agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized the property of Louise Khurshid, wife of senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Salman Khurshid. Central investigation agency ED has seized property worth Rs 45.92 lakh of Congress leader Salman Khurshid’s wife Louise and other accused under PMLA.

According to the information received, the ED team has seized property worth Rs 29.51 lakh in Farrukhabad, UP and property worth Rs 16.41 lakh in 4 bank accounts. Actually this whole matter is related to the scam in Dr. Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust. There is an allegation of personally using the trust money.

In this case, UP Police had filed chargesheet in 17 cases against Louis Khurshid and other accused. After taking over this case, ED registered a case under PMLA and started investigation.Let us tell you, during the year 2009-2010, Dr. Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust was accused of fraud in the matter related to distribution of artificial limb equipment to the disabled by organizing about 17 camps.

However, this matter formally came to the public in the year 2017, when many cases were registered in this matter. At that time, it was alleged that artificial limb equipment had not been distributed to many disabled people, but the bill for the same had been paid. Therefore, a report in this matter was lodged in Bhojipur police station of Farrukhabad.

In this case related to distribution of artificial limb equipment to disabled people, there were allegations of fake seal, fake signature and misuse of government money in development block Bhojipura. However, after investigating the matter, a charge sheet has also been filed by the local police.

After the charge sheet was filed, warrants were issued several times to both the accused to appear before the court and at that time there was a possibility of arrest, but later both the accused got relief from the court.
