Etah: An FIR has been registered in the case of a video going viral on social media of the same person casting his vote multiple times. Giving information, UP Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said that the FIR of the incident has been registered in Nayagaon police station of Etah district under sections 171-F and 419 of IPC, sections 128, 132 and 136 of RP Act 951.
The person seen voting several times in the video has been identified as Rajan Singh, son of Anil Singh, resident of Khiriya Pamaran village and has been arrested by the police.He also said that instructions have been issued to suspend all the members of the polling party and institute disciplinary proceedings against them.
Re-polling has been recommended to the Election Commission at the concerned polling station. Strict instructions have been issued to all the District Election Officers of the remaining phases of UP to strictly follow the procedure regarding identification of voters.

In the video going viral, a young man is allegedly making a video of him voting for BJP 8 times. Tweeting the video, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav wrote on Twitter, ‘If the Election Commission feels that this has been wrong then it must take some action, otherwise…’
