Now on the special status given to Bihar, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman herself has responded to this and has told what is the hindrance in giving special status to Bihar.In a press conference at BJP’s media center in Patna, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that a recommendation should come in the Central Finance Commission report for special status, only then further discussion can be done about it.
There was a recommendation to reduce taxes in the Central Finance Commission report, after which central taxes have been reduced in three different slabs. On economic assistance and special assistance to Bihar, Nirmala Sitharaman said that in 2015 a package was announced for Bihar and a package of Rs 1.25 lakh crore was given. This package was given for all areas.
