New Delhi. US President Joe Biden, who arrived in New Delhi to participate in the G-20 summit, has supported giving India a permanent seat in the United Nations.
President Joe Biden and PM Narendra Modi have agreed to increase the pace of bilateral relations. PM Modi’s visit to America saw historic achievements in partnership in defense and technology.
In the meeting with PM Modi, Biden reiterated support for India’s bid for a permanent seat in the UN Security Council and praised India’s chairmanship of the G-20.
A joint statement issued after President Joe Biden’s meeting with PM Modi said that while continuing to share the view that global governance should be more inclusive and representative,
President Biden reaffirmed his support for India as a permanent member of the reformed UN Security Council. It also mentions America’s support for India’s return to the UNSC as a non-permanent member in 2028-29.
