New Delhi. It was successfully launched at 10 am, correcting the technical flaw in the first unmanned flight test under the Indian Space Research Organization’s ambitious Gaganyaan mission.
Giving information about this successful launch, ISRO Chief S Somnath said, ‘I am very happy to announce the successful achievement of TV-D1 mission. The objective of this mission was to demonstrate the crew carrying system for the Gaganyaan program through a test vehicle.
He also said that the crew module went up to a MAC, which is slightly above the speed of sound, and initiated a abort state for the crew escape system to function. The crew escape system lifted the crew module away from the vehicle and performed operations including subsequent touch-down.
After this, it performed very well in the sea and we have data to confirm all this…’ Earlier, ISRO said in a post on social media platform X, ‘Identified the reason for stopping the TV-D1 launch of Gaganyaan. It was fixed.
The launch is planned to be done at 10 am. While giving information about postponing the first flight test of Gaganyaan, ISRO Chief S. Somnath had said that the launch of the test vehicle will not be possible today.
He said, ‘Engine propulsion has not been done normally. We need to find out what went wrong and make sure the craft is safe. Soon after analysis it will be told what caused the interruption in the automatic launch.
