Ahmedabad. A big news has come out from Gujarat. The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad on Thursday arrested 30 candidates for allegedly buying the leaked question paper of the state’s junior clerical recruitment exam.
This exam was canceled shortly before its commencement on 29 January. A police official said that so far 19 people, including agents and middlemen, have been arrested in connection with the question paper leak.
According to an ATS release, call letters, blank checks and original documents of these 30 candidates, including 7 women, were seized during a raid at a computer center in Vadodara in January in connection with the question paper leak. Police say that after investigation all these candidates were arrested on Thursday.
According to information received from the police, these 30 accused had agreed to pay between Rs 12 lakh to Rs 15 lakh to those involved in the question paper leak. Blank checks and original certificates were submitted as ‘guarantees’.
Police say that most of these candidates are from Gujarat’s districts like Mehsana, Aravalli, Kheda, Dahod, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Chhota Udaipur and Mahisagar.
