Now the secret of Haldwani violence will be revealed, mastermind caught by police, got 10 days remand.

Nainital: The sessions court sent Abdul Malik, the main accused in the Banbhulpura violence of Haldwani in Nainital district of Uttarakhand, on police remand for 10 days. After arresting him from Delhi last Saturday, the police presented him in the sessions court, after which he was sent on remand.

He will remain on police remand till March 6. During this time the police will interrogate Malik regarding the violence. Let us tell you that he was absconding after the violence on 8th February. For whose arrest, Uttarakhand Police was continuously raiding many nearby states.

The Delhi address of the accused has also been mentioned in the appeal. After seeing the application, Uttarakhand Police reached the Delhi address and arrested Abdul Malik.Nainital Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prahlad Narayan Meena said six teams were formed to search for Malik and his son Abdul Moeed in different states including Gujarat, Delhi, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Meena told reporters that one of these teams arrested Malik from Delhi, but his son is still absconding. He said, ‘We have brought Malik to Haldwani. He is in our custody. He will be presented in the court as soon as possible.Apart from Malik, two more rioters were arrested on Saturday, police said, taking the total number of people arrested so far in the case to 81.

Malik allegedly attacked an “illegal” in Banbhulpura area of Haldwani. ‘Madrasa was built. Due to its demolition, violence spread in Banbhulpura area of Haldwani on February 8.Malik had strongly protested against the administration’s action and his wife Safia had approached the court challenging the municipal corporation’s notice to demolish the madrasa.

However, the court did not give them immediate relief and the madrassa was demolished, leading to incidents of stone pelting and arson in the Muslim-dominated Banbhulpura area.A ‘lookout notice’ was issued against Malik and his son on February 16 and their properties were attached. Six people were killed and more than a hundred people, including policemen and journalists, were injured in the Banbhulpura violence.

Apart from the three FIRs lodged initially, the police have filed a FIR against six people, including Malik and his wife Safia, accusing them of criminal conspiracy, illegal construction and cheating by using the name of a dead person for transfer of land. A new case was registered.
