This means Pandya will not be a part of the team in the matches against England and then Sri Lanka on Sunday. The Indian all-rounder will be available only for the last two league matches of the World Cup against South Africa and then Netherlands on November 5.

Hardik Pandya has not started bowling since he suffered an ankle injury during the match against Bangladesh in Pune last week. The medical team will wait for him for a few more days to recover at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

He is expected to join the Indian team in Mumbai or Kolkata. The Indian team management does not want to rush Pandya’s return. The team hopes that he will be fully fit for the last two league matches.

The Indian team is on a winning streak in this World Cup, hence the team management wants a fully fit Pandya for the semi-finals.
