New Delhi. The situation has become tense after the violence in Haryana’s Nuh district. Its effect is also being seen in the surrounding districts of Gurgaon, Faridabad, Manesar and Sohna.
Due to the tension in Sohna, it has been decided to keep the schools and colleges closed even today as a precautionary measure. After receiving information about firing from the mosque, the crime branch team has detained 7 youths, from whom three petrol bombs made from bottles have also been recovered.
So far 80 people have been arrested in connection with the violence. While the government said that 44 FIRs have been registered so far, the Haryana Police has announced a compensation of Rs 57 lakh each to the families of the two home guards who lost their lives in the Nuh violence.
So far five people have died in Haryana violence. It has been decided not to give petrol and diesel in the open in Gurugram, which has come under the grip of Nuh violence. Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav has issued orders.
Communal clashes that began with an attack on a religious procession headed to a temple in Nuh on Monday afternoon escalated to midnight in Gurgaon when an armed mob stormed a mosque and stabbed a 23-year-old man who was sleeping inside. Due to which he died and the other was seriously injured.
The attack on the mosque came as a large number of security forces were deployed in neighboring Nuh and Gurgaon police and administration officials focused on Sohna, where mobs went on a rampage earlier in the day, attacking shops and houses.
On Monday midnight, a 48-hour curfew was imposed in Nuh, with internet and SMS services suspended, to prevent any further violence. On Tuesday, incidents of shops being attacked and arson were reported from different parts of Gurgaon.
