Jharkhand News: Police attacked during Ram Navami procession, 3 policemen injured

Hazaribagh: In Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district, people allegedly attacked the police for stopping them from playing loud music during the Ram Navami procession, injuring three policemen. By registering an FIR in the matter, the police has intensified the search for the attackers.

Hazaribagh Senior Superintendent of Police Manoj Ratan IV said that the district administration had banned playing loud music during Ram Navami celebrations. He told that despite the ban, a procession reached Veer Kunwar Singh Chowk on Saturday playing loud music, then the police stopped it and asked it to stop the music.

The officer said that on this the people involved in the procession attacked the police with stones and sticks, in which three policemen were seriously injured, who have been admitted to the hospital. Significantly, cases of violence have been seen in many parts of North India on Ram Navami. There have been reports of attacks on Ram Navami processions in UP, Bihar and other states.
