Himachal: Monsoon in Himachal Pradesh has caused a lot of damage in the last 72 hours. The rivers and streams are in spate in the first monsoon rains. In Rampur, the clouds have also burst due to heavy rains. Due to which crores of rupees have been lost.
Due to the closure of the Chandigarh-Manali highway, common people had to spend the night in vehicles. At the same time, information about the death of two people has come to the fore. Orange and yellow alert has been issued in the state. Flood alert has also been issued in many areas.
The sequence of heavy destruction continued on the second day as well. Two persons died. Along with this, the loss of crores has also come to the fore. Seven houses, four cowsheds, 11 vehicles have been damaged due to heavy rains and landslides. While five goats have also been damaged.
According to the latest forecast issued by the Meteorological Department, flood warning continues in six districts of Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Shimla, Sirmaur and Mandi due to heavy rains even today. In such a situation advisory has been issued for the people. Do not go around rivers and streams and take care while stepping out of homes.
Due to heavy rains in Solan too, landslides occurred near Koti Dharampur and Kaithlighat causing debris on the track. The morning train also got stuck at Kaithlighat near Shimla. The passengers sitting in the train were sent ahead of the bus.
All departments ADRF and SDRF have been put on alert. Instructions have been given in this regard to avoid loss of life and property. In case of any kind of disaster, instructions have been given to immediately act and provide relief.
The first rain has caused a loss of more than 15 crores, although this loss is expected to increase further. The Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow alerts for thunderstorms and heavy rains for the next four days, except for Kinnaur and Lahaul Spiti districts of the state.
