Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Police is taking Atiq Ahmed out of Gujarat’s Sabarmati Jail to Prayagraj. The police convoy entered Kherwada town in Udaipur, Rajasthan at around 8 pm, where it stopped for the first time and filled fuel for the first time.
Atik, lodged in Sabarmati Jail since 2019, is being brought back to Prayagraj in an old case of kidnapping of Umesh Pal, in which he is the main accused. Atiq will be produced in the Prayagraj court on March 28 at 11 am in this case.
According to sources, “There will be no halt during the night during this road journey of about 1200 km and the police convoy will stop only for refueling. Additional drivers have also been kept in the police convoy for this tiring journey.
