Ayodhya Ram Mandir: Shri Ram’s Charan Paduka made of 12.5 kg gold and silver, worth crores

Hyderabad: On January 22, the newly built temple of Lord Shri Ram will be consecrated in Ayodhya and Ram Lalla, who has been waiting for years, will be seated in his grand temple. At a time when preparations for the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya are going on a war footing, Hyderabad-based organization Ayodhya Bhagyanagar Sita Ram Foundation in Telangana is on its way to gift Shri Ram Charan Padukas worth Rs 1.03 crore to Lord Shri Ram.

Actually, one pair of Charan Padukas of Lord Shri Ram has already reached the destination i.e. Ayodhya and the other pair will be taken by some devotees on foot march to the holy place. Measuring 12.5 inches in length, 5.5 inches in width and one inch in thickness, Shri Ram Charan Padukas are made of 12.5 kg of gold, silver, copper, brass and white lead metals.

This Charan Paduka has been built by Chilla Srinivas Shastri, founder-director of Ayodhya Bhagyanagar Sitaram Foundation. He entrusted the responsibility of this to the famous metal sculptor and founder of Kalakutir, Pittampalli Ramalinga Chari.Ramalinga Chari along with six other sculptors have created the Charan Padukas of Lord Shri Ram in a new way by studying the ancient Padukas and various designs mentioned in the books related to sculpture studies.

The symbols present in the Charan Paduka of Lord Shri Ram include Conch, Chakra, Mother Cow, Elephant, Flag, Om, Swastika, Sun, Moon, two Kalpavriksha (divine wish fulfilling tree), sword, elephant’s gourd, sacred pitcher and two lotus flowers. Contains flowers, which were carved on Shri Ram Charan Padukas. Not only this, Mother Sita’s favorite Chintaku Pathakam – a necklace of tamarind leaves, depicting two emeralds brought from Chennai, has been placed on the padukas.
