New Delhi: Major leaders from constituent parties of the opposition alliance ‘Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance’ (India) are set to convene for a virtual meeting on Saturday, January 13. The agenda includes discussions on alliance reinforcement, strategic seat-sharing plans, and the appointment of the alliance coordinator.
Reliable sources provided this information on Friday.Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh mentioned that, in addition to seat distribution, the upcoming meeting will address topics such as the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.’ Ramesh shared on ‘X,’ “Leaders of India’s constituent parties will convene on Saturday at 11:30 pm using the ‘Zoom’ app.”
He said, “In the meeting, they will review various issues like talks started on seat-sharing, participation in ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ going to start from Thoubal near Imphal on January 14 and other important matters. India will change, India will win.
Sources say that Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee will not attend the meeting to be held on Saturday morning, as she is busy with pre-planned programs. Sources said that appointing the coordinator of the opposition alliance will also be discussed in the meeting.
According to sources, Janata Dal (United) is advocating making Bihar Chief Minister and its president Nitish Kumar the convenor, but Trinamool Congress is not in favor of it. Mamata Banerjee had advocated the name of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for the post of convenor and prime ministerial candidate in the last meeting of the ‘India’ alliance.
Sources say that decisive talks can also be held in this meeting regarding seat sharing. The National Alliance Committee of Congress has so far discussed with many allies regarding seat sharing.
