New Delhi. Taking strict retaliatory action against Canada, India has expelled its senior diplomat. Canada’s High Commissioner to India was summoned today and informed about the Government of India’s decision to expel a senior Canadian diplomat based in India, the Ministry of External Affairs said.
That diplomat has been asked to leave India within the next five days. The name of that diplomat has not been revealed yet.
The Ministry of External Affairs said that this decision reflects the growing concern of the Government of India over the interference of Canadian diplomats in our internal affairs and their involvement in anti-India activities.
Canada on Monday expelled a senior Indian diplomat for his alleged involvement in the murder of Khalistan Tiger Force chief Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada.
Which is enough to worsen the already bad relations between the two countries. Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Jolie alleged that India’s top diplomat had ‘credible links’ to the murder of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
Earlier, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, while speaking in Parliament, expressed his ‘deep concern’ on this matter. Trudeau claimed that he had raised those concerns personally and directly with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
