Mumbai team could score only 125 runs for 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In response, Rajasthan Royals scored 127 runs after losing 4 wickets in 15.3 overs, thanks to the half-century of Riyan Parag (54 runs in 39 balls).
Earlier, Yuzvendra Chahal (3/11) and Trent Boult (3/22) took three wickets each and restricted Mumbai Indians to a modest score. Nandre Berger took two wickets. From Mumbai, except captain Hardik Pandya (34) and Tilak Verma (32), no batsman could stay on the crease for long.
Hardik Pandya said after the match, ‘We did not start as we wanted. Tonight was difficult.’ When asked about his innings, Pandya said, ‘I think at one time we were in a position to reach 150-160 runs. But my wicket changed the game and put them in a better position in the match. I think I could have done better.’
